HOW TO STOP BODY ODOR – THE SCIENCE OF SHOWERING
When you’re in the shower, you’re probably concentrating on that fire reply you should have said during a conversation you had last year. But there’s a lot going on while you’re thinking about the perfect comeback – here are some things to think about:
- Why do armpits smell? That smell that you’re not keen on is a result of your body releasing sweat to cool your body down – and when that sweat is released into your hair follicles, it comes into contact with the bacteria on your skin. It’s that mix of sweat and skin bacteria that creates the smell.
- Should I shower at night? This one’s up to you. There’s no scientific evidence to suggest showering at night is better than showering in the morning or vice versa. We reckon you’ll feel your freshest waking up with a shower using a body wash with a high-definition fragrance that’ll leave you smelling awesome for 12 hours; but if you want to wash the day off yourself before getting into bed at night – that’s cool too.
- What about any tools for the shower? Stuff like loofahs (those big puffy things you use in the shower) can hold bacteria – so if you want to be as clean as possible when you jump out of the shower, maybe give those a miss.
And then once you’re out of the shower, double down in the fight against underarm odor by using a stick designed to rid of body odor and keep you smelling fresh all day. So, there’ll be no more wondering ‘how to get rid of underarm odor’ when it’s easier than getting rid of that last slice of pizza (hint, it’s getting eaten…).
So, if you want to know how to get rid of armpit smells or odors: jump in the shower, use an awesome shower gel, dry yourself off, use an awesome antiperspirant (we’ve heard this one is good), and you’re good to go – the next opportunity that comes your way is yours. Be ready, smell ready.
